ME ME ME
Wayward Betty is me, though I am not her. I am a Berlin-based author of fiction and non-fiction, in the process of organizing and rewriting the material on this site for publication. The blog accounts for some of my travels through Costa Rica, Australia, Bali, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Turkey, England, Ireland, Greece, Spain, and Morocco. Other excursions: Japan, France, Mexico border crossing and some burly U.S. turf.
I lived out of a suitcase and in my car for over a year, driving cross-country from the Midwest through the Southeast and back to L.A. I lived on a farm in Florida, a cabin in the Smoky Mountains, a New Orleans flat, and a ranch in Houston. I consider myself happily homeless, as I was raised in Seattle and since lived in Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Boston, New York, Tucson, and San Francisco.
By my own standards, I am settled, though life, while we have it, is all potential. I drink it up the way I have found most rewarding–through people, stories, and experience. In addition to my writing, I blend a performance background in theater, improvisation and storytelling. I play guitar. I sing. And I wander.
Above all, I value love, passion and living fearlessly.
I like to do handstands on bridges and cliffs. I eat fruit with chopsticks. I swim in oceans, lakes, rivers, and bathtubs.
